China Inspection and Testing Society (CITS) is a national, academic, and non-profit social organization voluntarily established by inspection and testing science and technology workers, scholars from related research institutes and higher education institutions, enterprises, and representatives from relevant sectors across the country. It serves as a bridge and link between the Party and government and the inspection and testing science and technology community, and is an important force in promoting the development of market supervision work. The China Inspection and Testing Society is managed by the State Administration for Market Regulation and is a member organization of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
The mission of the China Inspection and Testing Society is to “promote disciplinary construction and serve market supervision.” Its main areas of activity include:
• Organizing domestic and international academic cooperation and exchanges in the field of inspection and testing and related areas.
• Promoting research on the discipline system of inspection and testing.
• Editing, publishing academic journals on inspection and testing, and conducting online publicity.
• Conducting the selection of the China Inspection and Testing Science and Technology Award.
• Organizing the nomination of candidates for academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in related disciplines.
• Organizing the nomination of candidates for national science and technology progress awards, China Youth Science and Technology Award, China Youth Female Scientist Award, and Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award.
• Conducting technical capability evaluation and standardization services for inspection and testing personnel and institutions.
• Conducting evaluation of testing technologies and scientific and technological achievements.
• Organizing popular science and training activities related to inspection and testing.
• Other extended activities primarily focused on inspection and testing.
